Frequently Asked Questions
These Terms and Conditions govern the legal services provided
by Nordic Legal Solutions (referred to as “the Firm,” “we,” “our,” or “us”)
to clients (referred to as “you” or “the Client”). By engaging our legal services,
you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use our services.

1. Scope of Services• Legal Services: We provide legal services in the areas of [list of practice areas, e.g., immigration law, family law, criminal law, etc.]. The specific services we will provide are outlined in the engagement letter or contract, which will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the commencement of any work.
• No Guarantee of Outcome: While we aim to provide high-quality legal advice and services, we do not guarantee specific results. All legal matters are subject to the law and judicial discretion, and outcomes may vary based on the specifics of each case. -
2. Client Engagement• Engagement Agreement: The relationship between you and the Firm will be governed by an engagement letter or agreement specifying the services to be provided, the fees, and other relevant terms. This agreement must be signed by both parties before legal services commence.
• Client Instructions: We will act on your instructions within the scope of the law. If we believe that your instructions are unlawful or unethical, we reserve the right to refuse or discontinue representation. -
3. Fees and Payment• Fee Structure: Our fees will be based on [hourly rates, fixed fees, retainer, etc.]. The specific fee arrangement will be outlined in the engagement letter. We reserve the right to adjust our fees with reasonable notice, subject to your prior agreement.
• Invoicing: We will issue invoices for services rendered in accordance with the agreed payment schedule. Invoices must be paid within 14days from the date of issue. Late payments may incur interest at a rate of 13% per month.
• Expenses: In addition to our fees, you will be responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by us in relation to your case (e.g., court fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses). -
4. Confidentiality• Confidentiality Obligations: We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all information and documents you provide to us in connection with your legal matter. This confidentiality extends to any information we obtain during the course of our professional relationship.
• Exceptions to Confidentiality: We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or if you have provided consent for disclosure. -
5. Conflicts of Interest• Conflict Checks: Before accepting your case, we will conduct a conflict of interest check to ensure there are no issues that would prevent us from representing you. If a conflict arises during the course of our representation, we will inform you immediately and may have to withdraw from the matter.

6. Communication• Preferred Communication: We will primarily communicate with you through the contact information provided in your engagement letter (email, phone, or post). Please notify us if any of your contact details change.
• Responsibility to Respond: You agree to respond promptly to communications from the Firm to ensure that we can provide timely legal services and advice. -
7. Termination of Representation• Termination by the Client: You may terminate our services at any time by providing written notice. You will remain responsible for any fees or expenses incurred up to the point of termination.
• Termination by the Firm: We reserve the right to terminate the client relationship for reasons including, but not limited to, non-payment, conflict of interest, failure to cooperate, or if continued representation would result in a violation of ethical obligations.
• Effect of Termination: Upon termination, you will be required to pay any outstanding fees for services rendered up until the termination date. We will return any of your documents or property upon request. -
8. Liability• Limitation of Liability: Our liability for any claims arising out of or in connection with our legal services is limited to the total fees paid by you for the specific services that caused the claim, except where prohibited by law.
• No Liability for Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for the actions or omissions of third-party providers, such as experts, consultants, or other professionals that we may engage on your behalf. -
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution• Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland.
• Dispute Resolution: In the event of any dispute, we encourage you to first attempt to resolve the matter through direct communication with us. If a resolution cannot be reached, any disputes will be resolved through mediation or, if necessary, arbitration in Finland. -
10. Data Protection• GDPR Compliance: We process your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Finnish Data Protection Act. For more information on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
• Data Retention: We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide legal services or as required by law. Once your matter is concluded, we will securely store or destroy your data as per our data retention policy. -
11. Force MajeureWe will not be held liable for any failure or delay in the performance of our services caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, acts of government, or other circumstances that make performance impossible.

12. Amendments to Terms and ConditionsWe reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and the updated terms will apply to all subsequent engagements.

13. SeverabilityIf any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
